Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Mountain View

The role: Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant

As a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant, you will work collaboratively with others on our litigation team, with a particular focus on managing the procedures and technologies for our electronic discovery program. You should have experience with document preservation, collection, review and production,particularly in the electronic discovery context, and the initiative to help implement new technologies to streamline our existing processes.

You will also support attorneys handling pending Google litigation matters. This includes supervising document retrieval (including electronic documents) and working with external legal counsel on overseeing deadlines.

This is a fast-paced department where you will be managing numerous simultaneous projects under deadline pressure, which means you are hard working, well organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Discovery Counsel in managing document preservation, collection, review and production procedures, including evaluating new technologies and vendors
• Work collaboratively with the litigation team, as well as other groups at Google, to ensure our internal systems work well with our discovery procedures
• Supervise document retrieval and document production, coordinating with external legal counsel in litigation matters
• Coordinate with external legal counsel on specific assignments, review preliminary advice and provide internal recommendations

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
• 2 years of litigation experience with a law firm and/or in-house legal department.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years relevant work experience as a Paralegal including experience with complex electronic discovery Internet, high technology, general litigation, and labor and employment litigation experience.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a strong ability to review legal documents and organize numerous legal documents in complex litigation matters.
